It’s been a while since I posted any health updates & I feel it’s time to share. I’m usually very open but this was something I wasn’t ready to go through.Unfortunately the infection I had damaged my transplant. After several hospital stints my kidney could no longer function without the help of dialysis. The past couple months I transitioned to home dialysis & had to go through the motions of mourning the loss of my gift of life. As difficult as this is I am thankful that I even survived what UCD & Kaiser said was one of the worse cases of Cocci(Valley Fever) they ever seen. UCD wasn’t sure if I could even be listed again. They had me evaluated right away and I just found out that I passed my evaluation with flying colors and am back on the wait list. Also my antibodies now allows me to accept 100% compatible matches. The first time I was listed I was only able to accept 60% of donor matches. I now will have a better chance with the next transplant. I am thankful for all the prayers and support through it all and I definitely could still use them. I thank God for my donor’s support and understanding. I am thankful for everyday I still have with my transplant because it still functioning the best it could. It is providing the bridge for the next gift. Until than I will be enjoying each day I am blessed with. Everyday is truly a gift!
