I’m happy to finally share my first recipe post and thought to keep it up and share a recipe or food adventure every Friday using my favorite tag #FoodieFamily + the Friday. After years of sharing food on social media I finally have a blog that is fit for sharing my love for food. Our cooking is usually tailored to my diet and whatever diets my son’s diet our at the time. The youngest is in baseball and wrestling. My other son was in track and still is a runner. Sometimes they need high carbs and sometimes they don’t. I’m still fighting to gain wait so they want me to consume lots of calories but trying to do it in a healthy way. My family usually just add whatever I omitted off the recipe later (like tomatoes & potatoes to name a few) or adjust the salt as needed. For our everyday cooking we usually hold the salt or just a sprinkle of sea salt goes a long way. We have learned to use more herbs, spices and stocks to give the flavor it needs. We also improvise a lot and use what we have in our pantry so you’ll see in our recipes […]

With the atmosphere in my country this week and all the negativity on our social media feeds–I thought its the perfect time to share some healing therapy. We can all use some healing in our lives. I know I can! With my chronic illnesses I try to use natural remedies as much as possible since I do take lots of medications and it’s always good for me to take one less medication if I can. I’ve been familiar with essential oils mainly used for anointing in prayer for the many healing prayers I’ve received in my lifetime. Myrrh is the most commonly used in anointing oils and come to find out the many healing properties myrrh has. Myrrh- Commiphora myrrha Historically, Myrrh has been used in many ways, from meditation to embalming in ancient Egypt. Modern herbalists frequently recommend Myrrh for its cleansing properties, especially for the mouth and throat. Myrrh is also excellent for calming the skin. For aromatic, topical, or dietary use. *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It’s a new month and believe it or not we have to be very selective where we go out to eat because our budget is very small for the leisure stuff these days. It’s one of the reasons why I started to blog about food and our lifestyle. What I call our “warrior lifestyle” because we are fighting to continue to have these moments. I believe it’s important to have quality time with your family and it’s a small investment for time that I believe is very precious. My oldest just came back from L.A. and had a bunch of food adventures with my sister who recently moved to downtown L.A. where there are lots of great restaurants. Since food has always revolved around our family in our celebrations and it’s definitely our love language. When we cook for each other it’s our way of showing our love. You will know when love is not put into food. We always taste it. Like yesterday no one wanted to cook but my hubby through something together and straight up said tonight I didn’t put that extra love in that food. But eating is a necessity and sometimes you just got to do what you got […]
